Responsible Play
Last updated: 3 September 2026
Chips in Game Face have no cash value. They cannot be bought out, cashed out, exchanged, or redeemed for money or anything else outside the app, by any player or by us. Game Face is play-money poker, not gambling.
Even play-money games can eat your evening
Simulated poker is designed to be engaging — that’s the point of a game. But engaging isn’t the same as healthy, and it’s worth paying attention to your own play: how long you’ve been at the table, whether you’re chasing a losing session, and whether playing is crowding out things you’d rather be doing.
Coming in version 1.1
We’re building two tools directly into the app to support that:
- Take a break — a self-exclusion switch that locks you out of tables for a period you choose, which you cannot undo early from inside the app.
- Daily spend cap — a limit you set on how much you can spend on in-app purchases in a day, once purchases are enabled.
These are not yet available in this version of the app.
If your play doesn’t feel fun anymore
If you notice you’re playing more than you mean to, feeling anxious about a session, or play is affecting your sleep, work, or relationships, it can help to talk to someone who supports people with gambling-like play patterns, even where no real money is involved:
- BeGambleAware — free information, support and advice.
- GamCare — the National Gambling Helpline (freephone 0808 8020 133, 24/7) and free support tools.
In short
Chips have no cash value. Nothing in Game Face can cost you real money unless you choose to buy chips through Apple or Google (not yet available in this version) — and even then, chips bought or won still can’t be cashed out. Play should stay fun; if it stops being fun, take a break.
