Poker Call
Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Poker Call is a play-money poker game for adults aged 18 and over, with live camera and microphone at the table. Children are not allowed to use it. This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), how to report a concern, and what we do with a report. It sits alongside our safety and community standards.
Zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and for any sexual exploitation, grooming or endangerment of children. Any account involved is banned for good, the content is preserved for the authorities and never shared, and we report it as the law requires. There are no warnings and no appeals for this.
Keeping children out
- Poker Call is rated 18+ in both stores, and the app asks for a date of birth before any account is made or any table is joined. An under-18 date is refused.
- Every new profile photo is checked before any other player can see it, by automated tools (including an AI service acting on our behalf) and by a human moderator. The AI service never approves a photo that seems to show a child: those go to the owner of Poker Call, who decides. A photo that may show a child at risk or abuse imagery is held as evidence, never published, and reported to the National Crime Agency.
- There is no free-text chat and no private messaging: only fixed quick-chat lines, emotes, table gifts and a poke (a nudge with no words). Video exists only between the players seated at one table while cards are dealt, and is never recorded.
- A report that a player may be under 18 reaches a moderator as an urgent alert, and a person acts on it the same day: the account comes off every table while we ask its owner to confirm their age, and we close it if we are not satisfied.
How to report
In the app: long-press the player’s seat at the table and choose Report, then the reason that fits (for example “may be under 18” or “nudity”). Every report is saved to our moderation queue the moment it is filed and sends an alert to a moderator’s phone: at once for a player who may be under 18, threats or nudity, and within half an hour for anything else. An email copy to our moderators follows when the report mailbox is switched on.
By email: write to hello@pokercall.live with “Child safety” in the subject, the player’s name and table if you know them, and what you saw. Please describe it in words: do not screenshot, record or send us any image of a child.
If a child is in immediate danger, call the police first (999 in the UK, 911 in the US, or your local emergency number).
What we do with a report
A person reviews every child-safety report within 24 hours, and at once when a child may be at risk. Where it involves child sexual abuse or exploitation, we remove the content from view, ban the account, keep the evidence securely as the law requires, and report it to the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA), the authority UK law requires us to report to. The NCA works with international partners, including the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). We cooperate fully with the police and other authorities.
The law we follow
Poker Call is run from the UK and follows the UK Online Safety Act 2023, including its duty to report child sexual exploitation and abuse content to the NCA, and the child-safety laws of the countries where it is available. We also meet the child safety standards of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
